Nell'etate del 2008 lascio Second Life per un viaggio nel mondo virtuale cinese, HiPiHi, aperto da poco. L'impatto è duro, l'interfaccia è a ideogrammi cinesi, la linea lenta con difficoltà di download.
Cammino e nuoto per giorni, al buio, sulla terra appena separata dall'acqua, strani fuochi attorno. Mi chiamo Marco Manray anche qui, e il mio nome sulla testa è l'unica identità che rimane quando sono rappresentato da 16 pixel. Quando mi chiedono da dove vengo a volte dico Italia, a volte Second Life. Lost in The metaverse.
Mi affaccio sull'orizzonte come il viandante di Friedrich, attraverso architetture tradizionali, trovo simboli antichi. Torno con un sacco di foto, un video, e l'agendina moleskine. Espongo il materiale in Second Life.
